Title: Has anyone ever built the Karlsonator Enclosure? Post by DirtDawg on 03/28/22 at 06:56:19 A bit different from the '50s Karlson. With this modern re-do, the back wave is channeled to the front via a port or slot. I am thinking of building one or two for my garage system once I get my wood shop up and running toward the end of spring. Just wondering if any other DIY nuts have done so. |

Title: Re: Has anyone ever built the Karlsonator Enclosure? Post by DirtDawg on 03/29/22 at 16:13:15 Thanks, ET, I had not found that yet. My thinking is to question the materials at first, but STEVE has talked about using drywal as a cheap disposable product for preliminary testing a number of times, so I might just try a drywall Karlsonator as a start up. I am feeling that a little more volume for the rear end of the driver and the channel to the front should expand more gradually. I wish those someone's had done more measurements of the driver's response in this configuration. Still wraping my head around it all, but, I think this "ancient technoigy" requires a closer look. I can buy a lot of drywall and put it together, smartly. I just think that with the right driver and a solid enclosure, there might be something here worth exploring. Could be wrong, but I like to play. |
