I have had my new UFO2 4 months now and it is fabulous! End of Nov put the CSP3 on order…..Having my first tube issue though and this my first tube experience. Turned on the AMP this am and got a bright flash from the rectifier, and though it got hot failed to light up. Swapped it with another and powered up. All light up but no play, the meters register no voltage? What is my next step please?

The next step is to open up the amp and check the fuses in the little circuit board near the rectifier tube socket. One is a 5 amp fuse that has probably blown. . . .

Lon, Busterfree thanks guys! All it was put a 5z3 rectifier in and playing in a lovely fashion….Do I assume the original rectifier is blown as is the fuse or try it and see? Risking another fuse?

I'd assume the original rectifier is blown and not use it again. Glad it is up and running! Leave well enough alone! ;)

Always a good idea to have a few extra tubes, fuses etc on hand...happens once in a while. The old boy scout thing, be prepared. Happy listening, Chris.

HD yes I ordered a complete extra set tubes, then I got the 5z3 from posts here and a 5uG. Interested in the globe 80, from recommendations here.
