Hi everyone,
I have Bose 901 speakers, series 4, my question is... would Decware Tube amp work well with Bose 901 speakers.

Hi Loud and welcome.

I would think that the 901's would crush the beauty of a Decware amp. Become the weakest link in the audio chain smothering detail and nuances.

Bose 901s are a great party speaker. I have two sets driven by mosfets and reinforced with a couple of sub cabinets that extend range down to 20hz. Great grabbing attention in wide open spaces with ambient noise. Not so good in an intimate setting.

Even with the upgraded efficiency of the series IV it doesn’t seem like anything but Zen TorII monoblocks would have enough juice to play at immersive levels. A sensible play might be to use one of the Zen preamps in conjunction with a SS power amp to drive the 901s, that way you could have the Decware magic and your speakers, too.

I have a decent Aussie tube line pre(TLP) that I often thought of placing after the mixer and before the Bose EQ to see if would actually improve the DJ system. Something might worth trying now that the TLP is not being used now.

All off the Bose 800/900 series speakers I have used are power hungry and that nice FET amp might still be found insufficient but only you know what your desired listening level will be.

Donnie a regular here on this forum has that Decware SS amp. He likes it and even painted it his favorite color red. Maybe he will chime in here.
