Hey All. I'm wondering if any of you have a phono preamp recommendation for the UFO2.

I'm waiting on my UFO2 and have a Vincent PHO 701. I'm eyeing the ZP3, but I wonder if it's too much for the UFO2, or if it's a perfect match.

Are there other phono preamps you all like to use with the UFO2?

I'm sure the ZP3 is an excellent choice. Note however if you have a MC cartridge you'll need a step up transformer. If you want another opinion I have the Phono 3E from Mapletree Audio:

which is a very "Decwareish" company (just a couple of guys) in Canada. It is similar to the ZP3, but has an external (solid state) power supply and uses a 12SN7 tube instead of a 12AU7 as the cathode follower. I use it with a Luxman stepup transformer and my vinyl sounds fantastic via my UFOs.

Very happy with our ZP3, and I do use a ZMC-1 step up transformer for my cartridge. Keep us posted on your progress and what decision you come to. Happy listening, Chris.

One thing you can be sure of is that Decware plays well with Decware.
