Title: 6n15n -EB test setting Post by skiroe on 07/08/21 at 18:36:09 Anyone have a different notion of the test setting for the 6n15n tube? I cant imagine any other setting other than a EL84 or 6Bq5 on typical US made testers such as my Hickok 752A.. The tubes I have for sale are playing fine but Im getting test results that Im not happy with compared to other el84's. Also, what setting used for SV83? EL84 seems to be about it? |
Title: Re: 6n15n -EB test setting Post by Dave on 07/10/21 at 18:40:41 internally there is one main difference between an SV 83 and EL84...grid number 3 isn't tied to the cathode like an EL 84...to test this tube as an EL84 would require wrapping a wire around pin 3 and pin 1 of this tube before inserting into yer tube tester first...Hope this helps you |
Title: Re: 6n15n -EB test setting Post by Rivieraranch on 07/11/21 at 15:30:17 There isn't any information on how to test the 6P15P on a Hickok. I've been asking for years. You would have an easier time finding a Rusky tester and learning how to use it. |
Title: Re: 6n15n -EB test setting Post by skiroe on 07/11/21 at 16:14:17 @ Dave Thanks much for that info . Assume this applies to the 6n15n tube as well? I don't think I will do the wire mod though. Any idea if testing as an EL84 could of damaged the tube? What is sort of a reality check is I just dont remember what I may have discovered about testing these back more than 10 yrs ago. @Rivieraranch I do realize there are no Ruskie settings every time I check. doh! Doesnt stop me from checking yet again every decade or so [smiley=simp48.gif] being as I have original manuals and supplement for my antique tester. |
