[smiley=tunes51.gif]For sale, a pair of working Amp Camp Amps ver 1.8 that were used by me. I used them in balanced mono mode using XLR. They are in excellent cosmetic shape and work perfectly. These amps sound great and are a Nelson Pass design. I wouldn’t be parting with these except to fund my Decware order.

These are Class A amps that put out 15W in Bridged and Balanced Mono for 8 or 16 ohm speakers.

Who made these amps? And could you tell a bit more about the components used in this kit?

Hi there. So I purchased the kit from diyaudiostore who sell the Amp Camp kits. They are Linear Systems JFET amps. Additionally, the capacitors as I recall were all of pretty good quality. They were a combination of Panasonic and Nichicon. I’m not entirely sure what the resistor brand was. However, the website suggests they are all readily available quality components (maybe Vishay?).

I personally assembled the amps and used them for a period of about 3-4 months. They are super fun to assemble.

Kit amps and fixing older vintage amps such as McIntosh and Sansui (70s vintage) integrateds are a hobby of mine.

These amps were paired with ADS L1230 speakers. I believe they are 94 db for 1w at 1m.

After using these, I purchased a FirstWatt J2 which is my current amp as I wait on my first foray into tube amps with Decware.

Thanks for the info. I guess we have a few things in common, except I tend more towards speaker building. Like you, there is a niche for certain electronics. I have built a couple of the B1 pre from Pass, and am very impressed with these. I think the red resistors are PRP, a brand that I don't see that often but are very good quality indeed.

Of course! That’s amazing that you work on speakers! As part of that are you also pretty handy with the wood working aspect of it too? I find speaker designs fascinating... don’t understand all of it, but sure do try to!

Of the Decware designs, I have made HDT, ZOB, DNA, and DNA2, which I presently own. The ZOB and DNA2 are by far my favorites.
Take a look at my DNA2 here on the site, as well as the other models.
