Title: vinyl for sale?

Got a new TT rig, and need really well cared for albums to go with it. Anybody got some dreams to sell?

I use Discogs a good bit. Use the filter options to get the type and condition you’re after. I generally choose VG+ as Mint and NM are a bit more expensive. Check the seller rating closely.

I use to hit the used market hard on eBay but these days there is so much new vinyl that I hardly ever buy used anymore.  That said, some stuff just isn't being rereleased.  I go mostly eBay and I look for Ex, NM, M.  Watch out for sellers who don't sell much vinyl.  I've found some real cheats too.

Oh, I know that I am going have some surprises and learn some lessons. It is harder than buying used equipment, since the seller usually does not have a clue about condition, not to mention shipping. I tread lightly. Thanks for the advice.

Shipping should always be Media Mail for in the $3/LP range.  More LPs will add some but not much to the price.  Maybe $4 is a fair amount considering packaging.

I use a seller on eBay who often has 15% and 20% off deals for multiple purchases.  He also has a good return policy for defects - this is for new vinyl.

My best finds have always been at auctions, estate and yard sales. Some of the online estate sale sites allow you to set searches with area and subject matter (i.e. records, albums, jazz, rock, etc.). Also check out smaller local and college radio stations, they sometimes sell off stuff they don't want.

This takes some time but if you live in an urban or suburban area you can really score some nice collections cheap, then sell off what you don't want.
