I saw that, so exciting and not surprising based on the retail price, review, and generally how cool this is!

And I noticed the amp waiting list is up to 236 orders (and only thru noon on Black Friday, so likely more orders to be added for that day on top of anything between then and now, and after that review!).  I'm at about #125 as of this moment and have 22 assorted tubes I've purchased over the past month!

Now up to 276 orders!!!

Looks like quite a surge came in...between the BF coupon and the Component of the Year award.  Would not surprise me to see it hit 300.

Do we need to buy Steve some coffee ;D

Great news for Steve and Decware! Makes me wonder if there is anyone out there with above average soldering skills that would like to work in East Peoria, Ill.!!   Perhaps Steve could use another hand?

Holy crap, you can definitely see the day that the Audiophiliac review came out. There have been at least 24-25 SE84UFO's ordered.

That is a good weeks worth of orders.

And everyone said that low powered tube amplifiers were silly!

Oh 285 my apologies, the team is working late!

Yeah Steve certainly proved his worth with that video!

I have to wonder;

Have Decware and or Klipsch speaker sales increased also?

Has there been a spike in new registered site members?

Well I think the Decware build list is a pretty clear sign things have taken off!  For Klipsch, 100% chance they have increased (especially on the RP-600M which he raved about...and are on sale for $440 at the moment), but those probably had a high base sales rate to start with, so even hundreds of extra sales a month wouldn't be a huge percentage change to national or global sales (and Klipsch can increase production).  The big question for me is Heritage speaker sales (specifically Steve Guttenberg raving about the Cornwall IV, which is likely the most 'usable' of the line).  Those have always been niche (and latest models/version VERY expensive...and huge!) and in general, not an 'audiophile' speaker in the typical high-brow sense.  I would not be surprised to learn if there were more people taking a second look at those, and buying.  I also doubt (pandemic aside) there are many dealers who display them due to the size and past popularity.  I get the feeling a lot of people buy them sound unheard and sight unseen.

The UFO is likely doing so well because it's just a thousand bucks, it's small, it's easy to insert into an existing system.

How many rave-review 'audiophile' products are a thousand bucks (let alone for an integrated amp hand-made in the USA)?  That is the temptation.

Speaking of Cornwalls I just got an email from a customer who contacted Klipsch wanting to know what they recommended as the minimum amplifier power for the Cornwall and they wrote back 100 watts.   I told him that was sad to hear since it's not actually true and rather misleading.  So at best, he is confused as hell which isn't a good state to be in when you're ready to pull the trigger on a pair of loudspeakers.

If we were talking about solid state amplification, as a speaker manufacture my big concern would be clipping.  It's easier to blow up a 100 watt speaker with a 10 watt solid state amplifier than it is to blow up a 10 watt speaker with a 100 watt solid state amplifier because the later is less likely to clip.

So I can see where the 100 watt figure comes from, but whoever answered the phone over there may want to consider finding out if an SET is involved... possibly consider listening to one.

Steve

That is unfortunate.  Probably a call center worker looked at the spec sheet (100W continuous/400W peak) and just parroted back that number.  But even at that, seems for Klipsch the simple message would be 'quality over quantity'.

LOL, I cannot imaging putting 100W of real power into those speakers in a domestic environment.  If my math is right, that would be about 120 dB. of output!!!

I appreciate how Tekton gives confidence of using as little as 1 watt to drive some of their speakers, as of course everything you sell.
