Title: Reminiscing
Post by Donnie on 12/04/20 at 20:23:22

For whatever reason I just looked up how long I've been hanging around here, almost 10 years have gone by already.

Anyway I just started thinking back to the people who have came and went.
Like Pale Rider, DBC, Fireblade and on and on....

I just wonder what happened to them, moved on to other hobbies, other equipment, got tired of us, perhaps passed away???

I'm planning on hanging around here for the foreseeable future and I ain't dead yet, but it is still early in the day.

Funny you should bring this up.  I asked Steve just a couple of weeks ago about someone.  He said that he did not have any idea.

I do miss some of them.  I guess we come and go foe what ever reason.

Pale Rider does post every now and then in the PS Audio forums. Terry, one of the original demigods, is active on Facebook.

fireblade is on AudioAficionado using a different name. It's funny that after he went postal on me here we had a few positive exchanges* over there because I also have a different user name and he didn't know it was me. ::)

* answering questions he had and trying to be helpful just like I did here

I miss the technical treatises from Terry Gesualdo, Eli Duttman, and Eddie Vaughan.  I never understood it enough to say I learned what they were teaching, but I enjoyed taking it in and feeling like I had a better understanding of what makes a circuit sound the way it does.

I wish they would return here.

Brian

Indeed, I can't believe it's been 7 years since I joined. I love the vibe here, and the mutual support, and the willingness to learn and experiment. Above all else audio should be fun, and the members here clearly enjoy themselves. I'm glad to still be attending the party!

Yeah Lin, I tied into Fireblade once also.
The poor guy suffered from analisis paralisis and I jumped him about making a decision instead of worrying about insignificant numbers.

That is one of my pet peeves, make a damn decision and move on!

Hi All, it's very interesting this thread was started. I haven't been posting for years but lurk everyday and thought I'd pop-in and say "Hello".

It was just yesterday I fired up my 20-year old Zen Select and she sounded just as sweet as the last time I turned her on. The aroma coming off the amp was intoxicating. Not sure what it is the tubes? Transformer? Negative Ions? Dust? Smelled nice.

It's been years since I listened to my system regularly. Been very busy with work and life and girlfriends lol...

I miss the old crowd also (been here about 20 years) and see Lon is still here contributing and helping folks out and we can't forget Randy's contributions including his new speaker business. Randy was and is always a gentleman and I always enjoyed his insights and philosophies of music and audio.

I'm a huge supporter of Steve and Decware. Class act all and amazing products and support. Steve is always evolving and exploring new things and it's fun to watch the Decware product line evolve.

I hope you are all well.

Ray

Does anyone know what happened to Stone of Tone?
He stopped posting about 2 years ago not long after he took delivery of his ZMA with the new mods IIRC.

Not a peep since then.

As an infrequent poster, but having  joined around early 2000’s,
I still check in very occasionally, and still enjoy my ZCD/SE34I !

Be cool if we can coax a mini-reunion in this thread.

Yes, Larry (S of T) moved his residence and hasn't been heard from since. Hope he is alright.

SoT and I check in with each other (outside of any forums) from time to time.  He is doing just fine!
