I purchased some master tapes from eBay and because of sticky-shed syndrome they were un-playable as is often the case. After restoring the tapes by baking them for 24 hours and then liquid cleaning both sides during a slow speed rewind, they can be played one time.

Here is one of the tapes that I printed to 24/192 WAV files for your enjoyment over the holiday season. Just some tasty singer songwriter stuff with nice transparency that was destine for the trash. Basically it already was trash, and I saved it because good music should be preserved.

These are un-processed non-limited digital files directly from the master tape.

Tonight I'm restoring a pair of 14 inch 30 IPS masters of Judy Garland Live in Hollywood CA. I had to transfer it to 4 - 15 inch reels just to work with it.

It's pretty incredible to listen to something when you know that the tape machine was located back stage capturing it live. Also when you know it happened in the 1960's and was actually a rare event... " a moth flew into my mouth", she said.

These masters were made for Dunhill Records by Hollman Productions in Hollywood CA.

I'll post one of these reels here as well...

I'm pretty certain of that. That is what attracted me to restoration of master tapes doomed to oblivion... I feel like I'm saving music!

BTW, These songs sound friggin AWESOME through my Tiny Radials...LOL Love these little buggers! Can't say enough good things about them, hahaha unbelievable what performance this unassuming little speaker has.
