Title: Sub wiring from SE84UFO
Post by Eldergod on 08/22/20 at 03:28:00

So, I’m curious how you all wire a sub plate amp to your SE84UFO. Maybe a silly question, but can I run a set of speaker wires to my Betsy’s and run a set to a plate amp?

And if not, will simply running a set of wires to the plate amp first and then the speakers degrade the sound quality?

Or maybe run them to the Betsy’s first and then to the amp?

Thinking about building a sub of some sort using plate amps available from PE.

Run them to the Betsy's and then to the plate amp.
A lot shorter wire run that way.

I think running a sub “high level” will give you the best sound. You end up with both sub and Betsy’s connected to the speaker terminals on your amp. See attached:

I run speaker wires from the amp to the speakers and another set of speaker wires from the amp to the sub. Sounds great.
