Title: Unable to Save Date and Time Post by Mike_L on 12/14/19 at 18:50:56 Greetings Folks, After a few months of "box time" I finally got around to powering up my new ZDSD (2.02 firmware). After the startup screen I get the "Clock Adjust" screen which was not surprising and it's even stated in the DA-3000 manual that if the unit has been stored off for a long time that the internal battery will discharge and the "Clock Adjust" screen will appear immediately so that the time can be corrected. I can enter a new date and time with the "Multi Jog" but once I leave the "Clock Adjust" screen by pushing the "Menu" button or doing any other function the new date and time is lost; back to 2000/01/01 and 00:00. Since a battery was mentioned in the manual I removed the cover expecting to find a pcb mounted coin cell or a super cap but I didn't see such on the processor board or anywhere for that matter. The unit has been plugged in now for several days and powered up for at least 8 hours but there has been no change. Has anyone experienced this? There are no other problems that I'm aware of. All other functions and menu options behave and "take" normally. I appreciate the help, Mike_L |
Title: Re: Unable to Save Date and Time Post by Mike_L on 12/15/19 at 04:11:11 Just to follow up and close this out, the battery is located underneath the processor pcb about a 1/2 inch in from the left rear corner. It's a MS614SE-FL28E rechargeable 3.0V and was dead as a doornail. After desoldering the battery I ran 3.0Vdc from a power supply to verify that the date and time would be saved for tagging recorded files. All good. Hopefully the charging circuit is functioning. Now I'm just waiting for a replacement battery through Amazon so that I can put the ZDSD back to work. |
