Title: Steve, FRX2 as a 12 or 15 inch?

Steve,
I wonder if you would be interested in trying the electromotive coupling of your FRX2 on a larger more dynamic speaker; perhaps something up in the 100 dB range, maybe a 12" speaker, or possibly the Lii F15.

After following  the Big Betsy thread...I had wondered about how the FRX2 drivers would sound in the Betsy configuration.  That driver works so well in the ZOB, and produces such deep rich bass, that I assume that  You would not be doing the FRX2 justice.

Steve....have you tested the FRX2 driver in the Betsy configuration...and if so....what are your thoughts?

I haven't on all counts.  Been too busy to revisit it.  I'm sure the FRX2 would sound good in a Caintuck Audio Baffle, but due to it's price it wouldn't make much sense for Randy to even try it.  As far as employing the technology on the Lii Audio drivers, it also would make no sense as the price of the driver would then skyrocket not to mention the driver sounds excellent just the way it is.  The FRX2 is being successfully used in the ZOB, however it's real performance comes from a well designed 4th order cabinet.

I thank you, Steve for the answer. The FRX2 is very interesting technology to me.

Agreed.  If I wasn't so busy with everything else we make, I would develop the technology further.  Which is to say when I get more time for R&D, I would like to do just that.
