Title: What the heck
Post by Donnie on 10/26/19 at 20:02:35

Am I the only one who's bookmarks for the forum have stopped working?
On every platform I have it saved just gives me a 404 alarm.
The only way I can get here is through the Decware website.
Panic, the end is nigh!

You have perhaps, ruffled some of the alien folk responsible for these sorts of things...
😳

Happened to me too. Went through the main page and then made a NEW bookmark which has been working.

I just leave the forum opened on a tab and have had no problems.

I, too, was similarly stricken.

More bad news....I was trying to do some searches last night at like 2 am while I was at work ...and I kept getting the 404 alarm as well.

I checked again before...and while the search produced results...all of the links were producing the 404 alarm as well.  😩😩😩.

Same thing here, except at 4:04 am or pm. Gotta be those darn UFO critters.

If you look at the new URL it starts with https;//

If you look at the link in the search it is only http://

After a full index the search should be back but all your bookmarks will need to be updated.

That's my guess

Yes we are transitioning to having every single html document and image called from a secure https tag.

Sadly Google and Safari and probably everyone else now puts "unsecure" in the address bar on top of the browser which is total bullshit because A) the only thing that needs to be secure is the shopping cart page that actually takes your credit card.  B) You could in the past call your entire site from a secure index.html file if you wanted the entire thing encrypted...

It is costing me a small fortune to have scripts written to mine all the data on the site and forums and change all the calls.  I particularly resent that companies like Google got so F'ing big that they can goon everyone like this for their own entertainment (profit). Apple is no better. Neither is Microsoft.

It will take awhile to get all the bugs out.
