For the last few weeks I've been listening to a small pair of horn speakers that I built a few years ago.
At first I was truly enamored with the punchy bass that they put out, but after a while they have become somewhat annoying. I'm missing the smoothness of my OB's.
Time to drag the heaver than pure gold OB's back out of the corner and put them back into use.
You truly get used to not hearing the "boxy" sound of normal speakers after running Open Baffles for a while, or in my case, years of listening to them.
Am I the only one like this?

Not at all, Donnie. I bought my first open baffle speakers about 5 years ago, listened to them for a few months, and then sold all of my box speakers (except my Omega Super Alnico High Output Monitors). I haven't regretted my decision one bit. I'm looking forward to building a F15 BB, if I ever get to a place where I'm going to stay for a while. From what Steve and the other guys who have built them have said, I think that when I get mine done, I'll be even more convinced that I'm on the right track of the sound that I want.

What about an open baffle with a horn outward taper?

These are quite beatiful IMO...

I have no idea actually... I just saw them posted on another forum where a guy was dreaming of dropping some Line Magnetic Field Coil drivers in them. I said the same thing when I saw them too "wow"!

I might need to acquire the skills to be able to build something like those beauties.
Cutting them out of a solid piece might be in my skill set, but bending wood is something I've never done.....

Those look fantastic!
I wonder if the Directors [I guess that is what to call the horn mouths] emphasize a frequency range. I remember the Beauhorn put a mouth on the front of a Lowther cabinet and a reviewer said it's purpose was to bring up the midrange which was quieter that the highs & lows when the cabinet (a rear horn type) was first tested.

Steam, kerf cuts, cut from solid, thin plys are some ways.
Cover with veneer to get the desired wood look.
A little math to get the correct flat shape to start with, I suppose.
