Post by ScottNC on 04/08/19 at 18:59:56

Finally got the last of my rear wall completed by closing up the loft opennings, and then just a top shot of some DecWare Stuff

Thanks Geno,

In the case of my system, being single does have a few good benefits, though saving $$ doesn't seem to be one of those... [smiley=10.gif]

Best,
Scott

Scott,

Outstanding system set up & room treatments. Looks like to put a lot of work into it. Your home is beautiful. Love all that exposed wood.

I needed to borrow him. I had an issue with my Zen and had to ship it back to Steve. While it is there, i decided to go ahead and get the anniversary mods done. So, I'm without music for a few weeks :o

Just a thought,
I just by default ended up keeping my Sony HAP1s which is a basically an integrated amp with decent DAC in it and it’s been a life saver when things go awry. Just a thought but that or some thing like it can be the start of a nice little second system and great for backup in a pinch and covers quite a few components. I think they can be had used for $600-$700.

I've been thinking that very thing. I have been looking at the PS Audio Sprout100.

Guys, my heartfelt advice: think of separates that include another Decware amp as one component. I say this because I have tried several times to replace the amplification in a second system with something other than Decware. . . and I just couldn't handle it. Even a top of the line Peacthree Audio integrated (Grand Integrated X1) with a really nice DAC and headphone amp included couldn't take the place of a Decware amp. Maybe it's just me, but having a spare Decware amp is the only option I could really live with after being so used to the wonderful Decware sound.

But we're all different. . . I just wanted to toss that out there. I tried, I really did.

Hey Lon,

I couldn't agree more, thing is my Sony really isn't a second system yet (no source, speakers) just a backup because I already had it. I'm pretty sure if I pursued a working second system a mini torii or some such would have to be worked in there! hmmm, then a couple of 945's, it just doesn't quit does it? :-)

I don’t have room for a second system, so whatever I get will be in case of an emergency. 2 or 3 weeks is the situation I’m in now. But I certainly understand what you’re saying, Lon. Not wanting to try to listen to anything but Decware is why I don’t have music at home right now.  :-[

I totally get it Scott and Geno. I'm glad you have the Sony, Scott, it is an emergency backup saver indeed.

And no, it never ends.  There have been a few times I thought it ended. . . . And then a new tube type opens up a new dimension, and then Steve stays up late and has a Zen moment or ten. . . and we all get to talking and imagining. . . .
