I had my mandated annual hearing test today. Surprisingly I still have good hearing. Way better than the kids I work with. I attribute it to being able to focus in on what I’m listening to more than having good hearing.
Believe me, there is no reason for my hearing to be good.

IMHO, if one has suffered hearing loss, you cannot focus on what you can’t hear.
I say this as a long time hearing-aid wearer.
( long exposure to industrial noise)
I had hoped for a different outcome when it was finally determined hearing aids were in my future, but years later, I’m glad I have ‘em.
Good your hearing is relatively unimpaired !

Was listening to the system this morning and thought that the cymbals were only in the left channel. Turns out, my receiver (read ears/hearing) is to blame. Hearing aids may be, or at least really should be in my future. Today, it appears that the technology has really improved. I know, it can only do so much for us old guys, but it is worth the effort.
