Title: How to share two amps with one set of speakers
Post by Hankster on 11/15/17 at 03:41:45

Hi, new to the site, but just placed and order for a UFO2.  Looking for ideas of how best to share two amps with one set of speakers.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Hankster

Hankster,

Welcome to the forum...

How about banana plugs for the speaker leads for a quick switch over from one amp to the other. That only works well if the are easily accessible and right next to each other.

Or a switch box used in reverse.

I’m using a Beresford TC-7210 with my UFO2. In the morning with coffee I use the pre-out on my Naim Atom to feed the Zen which in turn feeds the speakers. For evening listening I switch the speakers to the Naim bypassing the Zen. This is a nice switch. Heavy duty binding posts and resistor loading on the unused outputs in case you forget to turn the Zen off when disconnecting. Great shipping and a personal communication from the designer himself. Came in around $100.

Hey, thanks for the information I'll look into that for my setup.

Hi Milesian,

Have you noticed any sound degradation after putting the Beresford into your signal chain?

Best,

Alper
