Title: Speaker capacitor question
Post by SonicSeeker on 09/09/17 at 01:16:02

I am thinking of trying some Jupiter Copper foil paper in wax Capacitors in place of my Auricap XO's
The value of the XO's is 2.2uf 240VDC and the jupiters are 2.2uf 100VDC. Is there any reason to be concerned about the 240VDC  volts versus 100VDC.
It is a first order with upper speaker binding post to capacitor to ribbon tweeter and lower speaker binding post through coil to lower drivers.

I think Jupiter designs 100v Caps specifically for this use, 100v, less expensive than the 600v caps. I am pretty sure I remember Jupiter tests the 100v caps at 200v. I was using 100v Jupiter VTs in the same application, between speaker cable and tweeter for my HR-1s for a long time. Soniccraft is usually the best buy for Jupiter caps, and Jeff, the owner, knows his stuff if you want details.

Your are welcome! Let us know how you like the new caps if you will.
