Title: For sale: Eddie vaughn Carina amp Post by Robster1961 on 02/04/17 at 19:04:38 (SOLD).... A very fine sounding integrated amp built by the master himself Eddie Vaughn. Front switch chooses between triode and ultralinear mode. All point to point wiring, superb parts, I had a master woodworker make Bubinga wood panels for the front and two sides, the volume knob is custom made from Mpingo clubwood. Please note: the On/Off power switch has been replaced with a red switch. The new switch is the exact same as the old switch except the new switch is red. The old switch led lamp would flicker and I decided to replace it. Please view picture of the newly added red power switch. Tubes included: 2 JJ EL84 with very low hours 2 6DJ8 one is a Amperex Bugle Boy, one is a JJ 1 5AR4 JJ Works best with high efficiency speakers. Specifications: Overall Dimensions- 16" L x 10.5" W x 6.5" H Weight- 26 pounds. Rated power output. (with 6 ohm load) Triode mode 1.5 wpc. Ultralinear Mode 3.2 wpc. |

Title: Re: For sale: Eddie vaughn Carina amp Post by stone_of_tone on 02/08/17 at 17:46:34 I'm glad someone bought this great Amp! I had it in and the ONLY reason I did not keep it....? I decided and concluded that I'm addicted to that little more power of my ZMA. I say little, because in subjective terms and depending on the Speaker's you're driving....that is all it is, little. I owned and enjoyed Steve's SE84CS for 13 years, so I am no stranger to low power perfection..... . However, it was so good....that I thought about selling my ZMA and Modded' Adagio's to keep this Amp and get for it, Steve's new Speaker. Rob is a first class guy and a pleasure to have done business with. |
