Title: Re: Right angle power cords Post by Matchstikman on 01/26/17 at 20:58:43 I have an Audioquest plug but I need it at the other end. |
Title: Re: Right angle power cords Post by Matchstikman on 01/27/17 at 13:53:17 If anyone is interested, I contacted Signal cables about a right angle wall connector and they said they can do it. They will use one made by Wattage for an additional $15. I've done business with the company before and they do good work. By the way, can anyone tell me what the technical term for the prong side of a power cable is called? I know the side that connects to the amp is the IEC connector, but what is the other side called? FYI |

I'm sure that there is a highly technical and scientific name but in every circle that I've ever traveled in they are referred to as the "male" and "female" end. :) |
Title: Re: Right angle power cords Post by Core32 on 01/27/17 at 16:56:24 The technical term would be a NEMA 5-15P for the plug end of the cable. So "plug" it is. ;) |
Title: Re: Right angle power cords Post by maddog07 on 01/27/17 at 17:59:21 you can make your own.... http://www.parts-express.com/wattgate-15ra-right-angle-adapter-black--110-431 http://www.furutech.com/2015/07/21/11446/ <-- these are not cheap.... I did a rather exhaustive search about a month ago... and I didn't come up with much other than DIY. once upon a time, long ago when I owned several Levinson components... they came with power cords with right angle plugs on the IEC end as their IEC receptacle was on the bottom of the component. |
