Have you heard much Gabor Szabo? His early Impulse releases are very Gysy-esque. I really like him. Try:
Gypsy jazz is a type of jazz I haven't pursued too much. Django is pretty much enough for me in many ways.

As for the harmonic minor, can't help you, I'm just starting to try to learn Jazz manouche too. |
