I don't care for them, but you might. So, I'm pricing them so you can flip them and break even. Me? I'm taking the big hit....but that is the price I pay........ .

Larry,

Got tubes today when you get a minute please send me an email (or just respond here) as one tube doesn't appear to be working. I'm running in a Torii Mk II and tried switching sides and it's definitely the tube and not the socket / amp. I also put back in my usual pair just to make sure that everything is working as expected and it is. The tube does light up but I get about 1/5 (or less) the sound one would expect out of the side the tube is in. I'm no tube expert so certainly willing to test / debug anyway that I can.

Sorry to hear this. That pair was the brand new pair. I wonder if something happened in shipping? I actually packed those better than they were shipped to me from Upscale Audio. I bet it was the shipping Nazi's. Furthermore, they took a week to get it to you, which was ridiculous......and suspicious(?) Upscale is meticulous about what goes out the door. John received the used 800 hour National pair and loves them and are fine of course.

Anyway, that is not helping you. Send both National's back to me. In the same container I sent you well packed. USE: USPS PRIORITY Mail 3-Day, as I did and email me the tracking number.

Cost will be $6.15 (I have the 3-day priority USPS receipt in front of me).

Once I receive them: I will refund you through PayPal your $50 + 6.15 = $56.15.

I obviously will eat the PayPal fee's + shipping to and from ($6.15 + 6.15 = $12.30).

I have a good relationship with Kevin at Upscale. I bought my awesome (now Modified) Acoustic Zen Adagio's from him and other great Tubes (more purchases pending of course too). He will probably work with me, even well after the fact....once I test it too.....and describe what is going on over the phone with him. He will want the tube back...to test himself....he is like that....which I appreciate... .

Yes, please do....put a sticker on that one. Send tracking to my PayPal email = yes.

***I will be taking them to a Hickok Tube Tester, along with some NOS Sovtek's I need tested and rated before selling. It will be interesting to see what that rogue National is coming in at. You mentioned subjectively, 1/5 volume of the other channel/National (even when switching channels-so you could confirm it was the Tube).

I guess if it was shipping the tube would have been trashed. So, so much for that tube being NOS/Platinum that I paid for..... .
