Title: Shunyata Research ZiTron Alpha Digital Power Cord
Post by stone_of_tone on 11/07/15 at 16:07:28

I would not take the time to post this....if not worth my time or yours.

If you're happy with all Components in your System-as I am-and are looking for those final Components (not tweaks and yes/Shunyata Power Cords are Components); then try a SR ZiTron Alpha Digital Power Cord to your DAC. It certainly takes every thing downstream in my System to its fullest Musicality.

It kinda pisses you off a little. I know how good I have it, but, this Cord maximizes it. Especially, in my case-my KS6063's.....wrapping things up into my Speakers..... .

Caelin Gabriel of Shunyata, knows what he is doing = understatement.

I am so pleased with Caelin Gabriel's Alpha Digital Power Cord to my ZDSD....I will bring in the Alpha HC for my ZMA and CSP3 in January, through the Cableco Library.

Right Now, I'm going to go for the:

.....at 25% off....I'm calling Joe on Monday.....to discuss.

PI Audio recently came out with a devise called the DigiBuss, which is designed to keep noise from digital equipment plugged into it from entering the AC line.

It can handle 6 digital components and cost a lot less than an SR Digital Power Cord.

Shunyata also has the MPC-12C and MPC-12A ("C" = Computer @ $2595 and "A" = Analog @ $2095) that can filter and provide surge protection for up to 12 components.

The MPC-12C is of particular interest to me as 6 of the 12 receptacles are designed exclusively for digital components such as PC's, Cable boxes, HDTVs, Switches, NAS Devices, etc. and although in the same chassis are kept separate from the other bank of 6 analog receptacles for TTs, DACs, Preamp/Amps, Subs, etc. So basically it keeps your digital components separated from your analog components while using the space of only one distributer.  I have my eyes on this unit as I think the price is fairly reasonable considering the filtration and non-limiting current designs that SR uses.

I think this will be well received as it has a good price point and the amount of gear that you can plug into it in comparison to other stuff on the market.

I bet the MPC-12A is great. I'm sticking with my P3.

Update on the S-R-Z-A-D-P-CORD:

I keep swapping her in and out....she is staying in. You don't know you need it....till you put one in. Believe me, my ZDSD is stupendous running with stock cord out of my Regen PS Audio P3 connection. However, this SR digital Alpha cord pisses you off. It takes Steve's Output Transformer's to even another level............. .

NEW ZTPRE ~ Pending!

I took the Alpha off my ZDSD today. Its been hooked up for 6 months. I listened to a couple Disc's without. The layer of haze you don't know is there......is there, sans Alpha. Back in I put her.....all came back in focus and clarity with the finest decay of notes. Imaging focus off the charts. It truly enhances the rest of the Chain.

I don't know how much better the Sigma could be? The Alpha Digital is truly something I don't want to be without.

I am so struck by what this Cord does....I had to resurrect the Thread.

I don't own any interest in the company. Just this cord fret's things out very well. When you look at what I'm running down stream....you would think this cable would not make that much of a diff'. But, oh, contrrra', maybe it is because of downstream....it bares its reality from Cailen?!

YMMV...but try it with a return policy.....might surprise the piss' out of you and then some....... .

Glad the cord is bringing you what you need! I believe in power cords and system/component synergy. My PS Audio power cords bring to me the same sort of benefits this Shunyata brings to you, and I'm as firmly happy and attached to them. I think when anyone finds this sort of synergy they can hear it and they should cherish it.

I would love to try one of these cords but need to wait until the budget permits.  I would be curious to hear if anyone has tried the Triode Wire Labs Digitsl Amercian Pc and compared it to the Shunyata Digital

Save your time on trying to go cheap with Triode Wire Lab or PS Audio.

https://www.thecableco.com/Product/Ztron-Alpha-Digital-AC

I bought the 2 meter...and with discount (click on what you will actually pay) = 9% discount = $948.22. Worth every penny. Plus, you can have two or three in at a time.....in from the thecableco's lending library. Make a decision/by the end of May.....start a Christmas Club now and treat yourself come mid December/purchase and delivery.    8-)

You are probably right about that.  My recent experience with Zenwave D3 interconnects made me realize that cables can be as critical as a component so going big is worth it.
