Title: General Amp Questions
Post by EL Capitan on 10/23/15 at 17:18:49

What is the safe and proper way to change tubes and/or interconnect cables on the Tori MK4 and the ZP3?

Do I need to power down the unit prior to changing interconnect cables?

Do I need to power down the unit prior to changing tubes?

-thanks

Hi El Capitan,

I personally just turn the amp volume all the way down when changing interconnects and have never experienced anything detrimental by not powering the amp or preamp off.

But for changing tubes, yes, power the component off completely.

Ok, thanks Lon!

I was mainly concerned when switching interconnects.

I also heard it was best to power down when changing speaker cables but I usually do that too.

Thanks, again.

Definitely power down when changing speaker cables!

You're welcome. Happy listening!
