Title: Re: Steinway & Sons 600,000 Piano Post by Steve Deckert on 06/20/15 at 04:24:37 Yup, that's a beauty! Makes me miss my old listening room(s) where I put a baby grand piano between and about 6 feet behind the speakers. I used to play it, record it on tape from the sweet spot and then run back and listen to it from the same spot for my own amusement. I actually got it sounding so real I was certain a ghost was somehow playing it without moving the keys... so one night I placed a PZM microphone and some accelerometers that I used to measure speaker box vibration inside the piano and sure enough, it was producing sound from the sympathetic resonance. The result was a nice ambiance of decayed sound from the actual music across the whole spectrum. You can imagine my disillusionment because I was starting to think I had the worlds best speakers.
