Hi all,
very good amplifier, I should know I own one.
Sounds best with Electro Harmonix tubes.
I would like to see a white color chassis as an option
and more choice of volume control knobs,
I mean more modern looking knobs,
but that's me...

I prefer the 5AR4 tube for it's more modern look,
but again, that's me...

Hi Guy,

Steve was having a really difficult time with the quality control of the white tops, and moved to black. White used to be the standard but now is not offered.

Hi Lon,
thanks for the information,
even if it's more or less bad news for me.

Why couldn't they do white crinkle paint?

Hi all,
how about if I buy/pay in full for a complete unit,
you ship me just the chassis in Canada
and I get it painted by a professional (White color),
then return it back to Decware to get it populated.
Does that make sense set aside the cost.

Hey Guy,  You'll need to contact Decware direct on that proposal. I believe they went away from the white due to damage to coating during construction of the amp which led to too much scrap costs. It may be possible to do what you ask but, risk of damage to coating issue might kill your idea.

I own an SE84ZS which I purchased 2nd hand unfortunately  :( the two inputs in the back which are supposed to be fixed or variable do not have a toggle switch as indicated in the manual. When I connect the fixed I need to turn the amp volume almost all the way up. When I use the variable there is loud static as soon as I turn the volume pot and it gets loud soooo quick and even all the way off sound bleeds into the speakers. Any suggestions ? Am I doing something wrong or does it need to be serviced . I own other Decware products and never had problems. I tried it with my CSP3 preamp but again volume on both needs to be way up to here any kind of volume.  I am using Omega Super Alnico monitors which are supposed to sound wonderful but so far only grief Cry .....can this chassis be modified in any way to a current model ?

Sorry to read this (again). I think that the amp deserves and probably should have a trip back to Decware for examination and correction . . . .

Sure, I would give Sarah a call, see if she can patch you through to Steve or set up a call with Steve, she would also be able to let you know about updating options.
