Title: Forum Updating Complete
Post by Steve Deckert on 06/23/14 at 23:39:14

Decware has been running on what would be considered today to be antique servers.  Being one of those guys who firmly believes that if it isn't broken, it doesn't need to be fixed... I drug my feet and waited until the last possible opportunity.

I made the first attempt last week, as some of you will remember since you were likely in the middle of a post when the forum went into "maintenance mode".  Sorry about that, and sorry about doing it again today, but the good news is, everything has been transferred without issues.

The new servers should take us into the years to come with all the latest technology.

You should know that the reason it didn't work the first time is because they said the Perl Code for this forum was incompatible with the new servers and that I had to update to the latest code or a more current forum software.  Boy, trying to deal with todays post iPod generation is really something.  My insistence that this code will work and that if it doesn't we'll make it work was interpreted as insanity and stupidity.  I told them to take their updateitis and get some treatment.  God help us all if they start engineering roads.

So to make a long story short, I hope you all appreciate the fact that the forum has been preserved in every detail, and not one change has been made.  That means everything is still where you can find it.... (an alien concept) and it all still works exactly as it did. (another alien concept)

Your welcome!

Steve  ;)

Thanks Steve - it looks good, and seems to be running well.

Any chance of being able to embed You Tube videos in posts?

I hate the nuisance of change.  Thank You, for keeping it the same.

Yeah, I can't seem to get that to work for YouTube videos.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/ECkzBJUdGYc

The URL of the embedded video is put between the media tags:

http://www.youtube.com/embed/ECkzBJUdGYc

You can get steel the URL from the IFRAME code that youtube gives you

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ECkzBJUdGYc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You can also right click on the actual youtube video and get the code/URL from there as well, then paste it in between:

[media ]youtube video URL [ /media] (with no spaces)
