Title: ZP3 & ZMC1 transformer
Post by Dixlon on 04/25/14 at 04:40:27

Hello to all,

I have a question about ZMC1 transformer. I'm looking to purchase the EMT TSD15 N cartridge. It is classified as a medium output cartridge.
The Specs are below:
      Stylus tip radius (µm)     6
      Diamond/saphir     Diamond
      Tracking force (mN)     20-30
      Mono/stereo     Stereo
      Impedance     2 X 24 Ohm
      Output transfer level (mVs/cm)     0,21/channel
      Frequency response (Hz)     20...30000
      Cross talk     min. 25 dB
      FIM     max. 0.5%
      Vertical tracking angle     23° (±3°)
      Compliance     15 µm/mN
      Eff. stylus tip mass     ca. 1 mg
      Tone arm connection     EMT tone arm
      Weight (g)     17.5
Will this cartridge work with the ZMC1. I have the ZP3 and my turntable is the Pro-Ject Xtension 12 Turntable.

Thanks all for the advice.  :)

Regards,

Kirk

Dixion, the ZMC1 looks the right one but best to double check. Specifying the cart when ordering will ensure the correct match up. Great choice of cart, lucky ZP3 !   8-)

Thanks Marky for your response. I spoke with my local Hi-Fi shop and they said when I have the EMT cart to test it out to see how it sounds.

I`ve read nothing but good things about EMT gear. The carts have an appeal that I`m very interested in and have tried to locate a JSD at a good price, but as with some of these specialist carts there are only one or two outlets for them, or one that I can find, so no price comparisons.
lol it`s easy to be picky when you window shop.
Please let us know  your impressions. I guess it comes down to the vibe and depth it gives you.
