Title: High-Rez Digital Files
Post by Lonely Raven on 12/31/13 at 15:56:03

So, I was reading this Home Theater Review article, and it's making me feel that 2014 is going to be *the wave* of digital downloads. I really feel like this year will be when more consumers really start moving their setups towards digital downloads, both on the HT side, and the Audiophile side.

Let's see what 2014 brings!

I could not agree more.

I look forward to getting advice from you LR for my endeavors into High-Rez through my Anedio DAC D2.  But first, the ZMA needs to be seasoned in starting next month and Tube rolled for me with Cryo Tubes & KT120's as well.  -S

I'm no expert, but learning more every day. I'm happy to share whatever I learn, as always!

Stone, get a BDP-1 (or BDP-2) and call it quits. It is absolutely sublime and you never have drop outs. It just works.

The key points:

Stripped down daemon Linux designed from the ground up for playing music and nothing else.
No graphic display which degrades sound quality
Best of the best, separated and isolated transformers for digital and analog
Very low jitter and identical sound through the Anedio in Spdif or USB.
No network needed for playing as it does not stream. That is super important. All music in on a SSD drive.
Plug in an airport express or whatever you like and use a iPhone or ipad with the excellent Mpad app. You can also play files from the front panel just like a CD player.
Transfer music from your computer wirelessly.
I only use Aiff but you can use whatever you want.

Good hi res is a revelation.

Thanks LR & OC. I will revisit this Thread when I am ready to dive in. -S
