Title: Introduction to Decware Gear
Post by glineus on 10/30/13 at 23:49:12

Hello fellow decware owners

I should be receiving a Tory11 MK1V in a few weeks. This will be my first piece of Decware equipment. I will also like to try some cables but  my system configuration necessitates 25ft of speaker cables. Will this length hurt (transparency, sound-stage etc.) in anyway, or should I reconfigure for shorter lengths? Is there a sonic difference between a .5m  and 1m pair of interconnects?

Regards

Awesome, your first Decware item a Mk IV! Congrats and welcome.

I would say no, not really a difference in sound I've noticed between .5 m and 1 m interconnects. Now between 1 and 3 meters . . . maybe a little, depending on the construction and materials of the cable.

I think 25 feet of speaker cables is long, but not really impossible and capable of great sound. I would go with 12 gauge or lower for such a length.

Steve says the Styx are good out to 40' - those would be great speaker wires for long runs.

Thanks Guys, I am looking at the Silver Reference IC with the Styx Speaker cables
