Can Rachel be constructed with Simpson meters, rather than the stock ma meters? THX Mark

I have a related question, and maybe you can help. I also just encountered a bad seller of PSVANE Type II EL34 if anyone wants details PM. Frustrating!

My question: Do the bias meters show readings before or after auto-bias is applied?

I assume, before?

I have some from Upsacle Audio, EL34 Mullard re-issue, that are perfectly matched on the bias meters at about 40mA.

My question is, my other pairs of Black Treasures and PSVANE Type II EL34 are about 4-5mA apart. No big deal but I'm trying to figure out exactly what the meters are telling me.
