I bought a new TABOO MKIII because I could. It arrived last Thursday. I tried it at home with cans and at the office with speakers.

I do little if any headphone listening but my CSP2+ has served me well in that regard. The new lucid mode is astonishing and ground breaking - but in the end - not for me.I liked the SUPER ZEN and ZSTAGE combination better with speakers. So this amp needs a new home.

The build quality of this piece is exceptional. It looks extremely sturdy and well engineered. It works well and lives up to everything that Steve claims it will. There is no hum or other problem. This amp has a stepped attenuator and 3-pin XLR connectors at the front.

I am putting this up for sale at $1,550 net to me. A new one requires a 12 week wait and would cost, with shipping $1,750.

RR, I can't believe no one has snapped this up! I have been enjoying mine for about two months with Audeze 2.2 and Sennheiser HD800 headphones....works well with both. You might want to put the base on correctly....it's on backwards. Mark.

Yes, you are right; it is on ass backwards. I had originally ordered mine with the walnut base. At the last minute I called up there and begged them to put it into a black figured base. Evidently it was done too quickly. If I have to put this thing up on Audiogon I will definitely remove and reinstall the unit correctly. I don't think anybody around here would have a problem with it; looks kind of neat.

I put the base on properly and will post a new picture. If this does not sell soon I will have to list it elsewhere.

I'm spending on a new DAC too, but damn I have been wanting one of these.

You have a walnut base as well? Comes with tubes I assume. Can you through in another rectifier?

When my TORII MK IV arrives I will determine whether I need a preamp. If I don't need a preamp I might as well just keep the TABOO MK III for head use. I have been using it and getting accustomed to the sound and performance of it.

Cool, stay in touch. I'd like to pull the trigger on this but I did just order a new DAC and speaker wire. So, I need to check my finances.
