Title: Input voltage from DAC
Post by KobeeDog on 07/27/13 at 22:45:59

Hi there,

I am seriously considering ordering this amp after immensely enjoying a loaner Zen amp from a friend.

My question is, will this amp be able to deal with the 2 volt output from my DAC. The reason I ask, is that recently tried out a (ahem...) Chinese tube amp, and found out only after buying it that it has an input voltage of 500 mV. The end result is tons of distortion from my DAC.

Will Rachel be able to deal with my DAC with no distortion? For what it's worth, my DAC is a Schiit Audio Gungnir.

Thanks.

Absolutely. I used to run my earlier model Integrated with my CSP2 preamp with a lot more than 2 volts going in. It can take it! And dish it out.

It needs 2.5v in for full output, the Zen 2v.
You have a CSP right?

I did. I sold it because I couldn't deal with the hum with all my SS gear.

I have a Schitt Bifrost Über and no problem.
