The original Torii has a power switch on the back, are the 2 black rocker switches on the front for standby?
What are the 2 silver switches/pots near the tubes for?

Congrats on the Rachel, you beat me to it. ;)

According to Steve in "Are the blue Torii's self biasing?" the amps are self biasing and do not have a bias switch.

I'd send Zygi (Bob) a PM about the switches. He is THE MAN when it comes to the first Toriis. And one of the very most helpful men on the planet.

I tried to send Bob an e-mail (charter.net) twice and they both were bounced, so I rejoined the forum and until now didn't have enough posts to PM.
I don't have Chris K's e-mail, but I knew either one should be able to answer my questions.

I doubt Mr. Plant would be of much help with this issue.

Bob Z. on the other hand might be easier to call and more familiar with your amp.

Hi Guys,

Just got this...Thanks for the heads up Lon....Lin, ET All my email address is zygi@decware.com The charter.net has been gone for just a month or so I'll never you my provider email again for the for the very reason, when you switch providers, you lose you contacts and email.

The pots on the Torri were added to mine about a year after I bought the original they are re-generative feed back(as I understood it at the time). From what I can discern, all the way to the left has none, full to the right full on feedback.
Your amp is the model with out the pre, so no volume controls which is probably why you have the stand by switches which I also do not have.

3 of the 4 tubes (EL34) coming with the Torii are no good, so I ordered a matched quad of JJ KT77s.
Should have everything by Thursday. :)
