Title: ZTPRE hum Post by Audioqwest on 12/11/12 at 03:00:12 When I switch the unit to high gain, it has quite a hum to it. I've tried new tubes, a couple amps of differing sensitivity and unrelated power sources with no change. Ideas? Also, does anyone have a schematic of this unit? Thanks and Season's Greetings! |
Title: Re: ZTPRE hum Post by Steve Deckert on 12/17/12 at 18:17:26 Hi Audioqwest, Sounds like either a ground loop between it and some other component, or possibly a loose ground somewhere inside the unit. They were known for being quiet. If you send it in to us for a look over, use the RA form on the site and include the power supply and cable. Thanks, Steve |
Title: Re: ZTPRE hum Post by Audioqwest on 12/29/12 at 16:52:39 Ok, thanks. I'll check it over a bit and send it in if needed. It's perfectly quiet on the low gain setting, only large hum on high gain. |
