Title: Torii MKIII and Zu Soul Superfly Digital Rig
Post by orangecrush on 11/01/12 at 04:36:38

I do not have a dedicated listening room, so this is the best I can get. It is surprisingly good with the near field listening triangle. Seems to make up for less than ideal speaker placements.

Here you see: Torii MKIII with V-Caps and 16 ohm taps, Anedio D2 Dac, SBT+EDO, Audiophilleo 2 with PurePower, BPT-1 Power Conditioner with silver wiring, Zu Soul SuperFly 16 ohm speakers. The Anedio has a great digital preamp function and remote control that works perfect with the Torii. I am using Zu Libec silver alloy speaker cables, RS Audio pure annealed silver interconnects and DH Audio Labs USB cable, although USB cable don't make much of a difference with the Audiophilleo and PurePower.

Pretty much done for now, expect for some more isolation tweaks on the Dac and maybe the speakers.

Are you perchance a decorator ?
The lines, pictures, and skirting boards are
so tasteful.
There is almost a mystery.
Musical.

LOL, no I am carpet cleaner. We have a a very small house and so we wanted the audio rig to integrate. Sometimes the best way to accomplish that is to make it the showcase. ;)  So we treated everything like pieces of art! My wife is an artist and so all the walls are filled with art. Most people think the Torii is a sculpture! ::)

Sweet system!
I am anxiously awaiting my "Rachel" amp to drive my Zu Omen Definitions. I will post pics when she arrives.

That will be an amazing combo. I love the ZUs as much as my Torii. Do you have the upgraded drivers in DEFs? I am thinking about upgrading mine.

Yes. I used to have the Superflys and was going to get the upgrade. But I got a great deal on the Omen Definitions with the nano drivers and went that way instead. They are a little easier to drive with the low power amps. But the Superfly/Torii combo is about perfect! 8-)

Cool. I see you had the Torii and Superfly's. Fred (Gopher) says the nano tech drivers are a big upgrade, like completely new speakers. I will probably pull the trigger on the upgrade in January when I have more free listning time.

I would highly recommend the upgrade. I know they have a waiting list right now just like Decware. One of the reasons I went with a new pair.

Silly question here but in that pic, it shows the listening position(s) behind the speakers is this correct?  Or is the picture shot from the listening position and those are jsut a couple of chairs on teh other side of the room for headphone listenng?

I've seen this often and have been curious

The picture is shot from the listening position. The same distance as the distance between the speakers. A near field triangle helps mask other room issues.

Those are Herbies Iso-cups with lampblack glass balls. So far I have nothing better under the Torii. Thanks to Lon. He has a thread on Herbies stuff.

I need to write a standard process for attaching photos.

The best way is to post them at a photo sharing site like Photobucket or Flicker.
Then push the 3rd little button from the top left that looks like a little picture, when you hover over the button it says Insert Image. Push the button and [img][/img] comes up.
Put the URL of your picture between the ] and [
Now when you preview your post, the photo should show up.

Your pics seem like their a higher resolution then mine. How did you upload yours? I use flickr and they look great, but not so much here. I'm a little green in this area.

I used ImageShack to upload. Upload images, then choose "Create Album", then in the right hand bottom corner, you see a box that says "Get Links and Codes for all Images" and choose "Direct Links" from the drop down menu. That will give you the correct codes to copy and paste. The ones for websites and forums don't work we'll on this forum. Hope that makes sense.
