Lon...it's more than just cooool.... this really is a great sounding amp! I have sent it to Steve to install the Haszen mod last year, he did an update and the amp is now called a MK2.5..... Something he did to the input tube...all I know the amp sounds way better...my speakers are the Hawthorne Audio SI 15... This combo sounds great together...this new amp should be a step up.....can't wait for it to get here!

Greg, I may have a similar amp as I have one of the first Mk IIs (actually I think maybe the first, it had been Zygi's) and Steve had updated it with the Hazen Grid mod, the treble cut circuit and perhaps more. Fantastic amp that is just cruising along not breaking a sweat in my bedroom system.

Can't beat Toriiis for musical enjoyment! (I'll be generous and include Mini-Toriis in there too!) ;)

New guy here. I just ordered a SE34i-3 a few days ago too. I am using a tube preamp with a built in phono stage so I am getting the straight amp version with walnut base and the V Cap option. This will be my first Decware product and the 12 week wait is going to be brutal. I have already ordered a tube set for it including some cryoed Mullard E34 reissues. I also have some 6550 and 6922 tubes that I am going to try too

Welcome! The wait is going to be brutal, I know. Just relax as much as you can and listen to lots of music. That's the best way to get through it. :)

I think you'll like the Mullard reissue tubes; I used them to good effect in my Integrated.

You've ordered one terrific amplifier. I've got the original SE34-I, and it does everything so well, i can't imagine anyone not being pleased with
Decware's latest offering!

What about that TABOO you bought from me? Are you still using that?

I based my decision on what output tubes to get for my new SE34i-3 mostly on what you guys had been saying on this forum. I seemed like there were lots of good reviews on the Mullard EL34 reissues. Thanks.
I already own some 6550 tubes and I am really curious about what they will sound like. Does anyone have experience with the 6550 in a SE34i series amp?

The SE34I-3 also takes 6550/KT88's??

According the spec page you can run EL34, KT 77, KT88 and 6550 power tubes. I ordered some new EL34 because they should sound best because of the Hazen mod but since I already have the 6550s left over from my old CJ Premier 11 I am going to try them too.

I ordered some Mullard reissue EL34's from Jim McShane.

I finally put my order in last night.

May have to get another power amp in the mean time.
