Title: Socket Savers? Post by Pale Rider on 11/03/11 at 13:09:23 A while back, I had a prolem with some of my tubes fitting in my tube saver, so I bought some socket savers from (I think) Antique Electronics. Can't remember if it was RivieraRanch or someone else who recommended those, but whever it was, thanks! Today, I received a promo from TubeMonger for some rather higher end NOS socket savers. Anyone have any experience with these? |
Title: Re: Socket Savers? Post by Rivieraranch on 11/04/11 at 03:10:28 What I had were some adapters that allowed using a 5Z3 (4-pin) in place of a 5U4. These socket savers you refer to are perhaps over engineered. They look like a tuxedo. It is fine that they use NOS components, but frankly they are over priced for what they are. You could get a new socket put in for what they are charging. |
