Does anybody have any experience with 6v6 tubes, and if so, what brands/years do you prefer?

I've used them in guitar amps (which I know, I know, apples and oranges). NOS Philips can be really good, JJ is good for new stuff.

thanks Lon. I know that Decware offers the JJ tubes. Wish that I had thought of that before did my own search. I have Chinese tubes right now, and can't really fault them, but if I do change I would like to have a couple of other ideas. I did get ahold of some RCA tubes,but haven't tried them yet. Also, this amp uses 6sn7 tubes as well. Any thoughts?

Gosh, no experience with that tube type. I've always thought that was an interesting tube and amps using them can be different. . . .

For new production, the newer Tung Sol 6V6 has received the most praise with EI and JJ lacking behind. JJ continues to receive bad press because of quality issues.

I am running NOS Popes in my Mini Torrii and have had no desire to change. There are many excellent sounding vintage 6V6s so you decide what you like best.
