When we cleaned out my grandmothers house a few years ago I took a 1946/7 Clarion radio/record player and have been using it for a nightstand. Today as I was reading and learning about tube rolling I happened to glance at it.... hmmm says I. I need a screwdriver!

Inside I found 5 tubes. One is a Silvertone 5Y3GT which works just fine in my Taboo and CSP2! Sweet

I don't care if it dates me, but the first 'stereo' I ever listened to was a Magnavox somewhat similar to this piece. Listened to KOMA Oklahoma city radio and played a few albums on it in the basement of my home for a couple of years.

Very cool. My uncle Jack had a similar unit in his room, my uncle Jack was my "coolest uncle," he was twelve years younger than my dad and fifteen years older than me. Much of the things he grew up with were in his room at my grandma's where I often stayed. I found his stuff fascinating.
