Title: ZSTAGE with Class T amplifiers?
Post by Steve Deckert on 07/11/11 at 05:32:26

I recently had an opportunity to listen to a class T amplifier driven directly off a decent sounding DAC and was impressed for a $50 dollar amplifier - it's a no brainer if you're on a budget.  This was a 50 watt model too!  However, it got scary when we put a ZSTAGE in front of it and ran Decware cables.  If you want something pretty close to the Zen Triode Sound with about 50 watts... this combination is something to seriously think about.

I just got a T amp ( 2 days ago) and it has only 20 hrs on it. I have put a ZBOX and tera dac in front of it, being driven by the cd200. I am sure the ZSTAGE will be miles ahead. But these T amps are impressive and really cheap.

Check out the Dayton Audio DTA-100a Class-T Digital Amplifier 50 WPC @ parts exp. I picked up the Topping from ebay, which is less powered. If you have hi eff speakers, then the wattage may not matter.
