Title: Zen TORII on GedLee Abbeys?

Does anyone have any experience with this combo?

I don't have personal experience, but on paper they would appear to be a good match.  The Abby's are fairly high sensitivity, so the Torii should be more than sufficient, unless you're trying to fill a gigantic room.

What is you situation?  Do you have a Torii and are considering the Abby's, or vice-versa, or are you starting from scratch?

Here's a nifty link to see if the power is adequate:

If you go down this path, please let us know how it turns out. The Abbeys were at one time on my short list, and while I no longer plan to go that route, I would like to hear your impressions.

I do own the Abbeys along with two of Dr. Geddes' bandpass subs and two custom aluminum Rythmik Subs that I built.

I'm intrigued by this amp.

jtwrace,
I really like that sub! I'm figuring around 4 hours a panel to machine, 6 hours of CAD time and $1800 in material. That is commitment. I wish I still worked at a small shop I'd be hacking some out today. Great work!

I probably have ~40 hrs of CAD time as I kept changing what I wanted to do and how I wanted it to go together.

As for machine time, it's only about 30 min per panel which includes all the ops and changeover in fixturing.  The polishing of each panel, anodizing and assembly is a huge amount of time too.

Cost of material?  Well, considering I did this at a time when aluminum was the highest, lets just say it was expensive.   ;)

Where are you located?  There may be someone on the board who is willing to let you listen to their amp.

Fan-dang-tastic. Thanks. What I will call the standard, non-Death-Star Rhythmiks are high on my list.
