Title: Question About Taboo Headphone Jack
Post by Pale Rider on 03/05/11 at 19:25:42

I am a little confused about the Taboo headphone jack option. I dropped a line to the Decware folks, but I thought I would post here, too. Does the basic Taboo come fitted with a jack? If so, is it a 1/4 inch SE jack?

If not, is that the type of jack installed with the headphone jack option?

Or is the headphone jack option for a 4-pin fitting, such as would be used with the HiFiMan HE-6? I ask because I will be using the Taboo with an Audez'e LCD-2, which has an SE 1/4-inch plug.

Thanks!

Greg

Unless I am mistaken the jack is optional, and is a 1/4 inch. DECWARE doesn't believe in balanced jacks.

Thanks RR. I am hoping that is the case. So, the base Taboo does not come with a headphone jack?

Yep, I know that section of the web page. Just focusing on precisely what it means.  ;D

The Taboo comes stock without a headphone jack.  The headphone option adds a 1/4 stereo phono jack to the unit.

Thanks Steve!

You wouldn't think that such a basic option could cause so much confusion.......but sometimes I think that's my specialty.  ;)

Thanks again.

Hello!
First post on this forum.
Is the headphone jack directly connected to the speaker output? Is it possible to connect a high impedance headphones  (300-600ohms) to the jack?
Thank you.

It was my understanding, at least with the Mini Torii and a headphone jack that you would have to disconnect the speaker wires or have a speaker wire cutoff switch installed.

I cannot find a picture of the TABOO with the headphone jack installed.
