Title: *SOLD OUT* Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by Rob on 03/05/11 at 15:50:06 Fresh from your grocer's freezer.... ;) Greetings. I just got a fresh batch of (32) NOS 6P15P-EV (Rusian Reflector factory C. 1981-82) back from being Cryo- treated. I sold a number of these here to Decware users about 2 years ago, and the orignal set I put in my mono-blocked Selects are still running strong over those 2+ years, with heavy play time. I got nothing but positve feedback from those who have gotten them. If you are intereted in any, they are $24/ea , come in original boxes (note boxes were opened to have them treated) This price will include FREE shipping via USPS Media Mail. If you want faster shipping they can go at $4.95 for 2-3 Day Priority Mail. You can PM me here, or e:mail me @ loosingitt1@yahoo.com I can accept a money order, or PayPal for payment. First come, first serve....... I will update available quantities as they are old. If there is enough interest, I have about 24 more can send to be treated. Happy Listening........ Rob |

Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by don pettit on 03/07/11 at 15:22:03 hi rob, a few weeks ago i had asserted the benefits and qualities of cryo treated tubes, cds, etc and was loudly ridiculed by, among others, a motormouth named frank(tubular). my question for you, rob, is where do you stand on this topic? also, where in this discussion are all the other customers of cryoset who use tubes cryo's by ron sheldon and are decware users? a few years back when i was a user of carver solid state audio a loudmouth character that claimed to be an "audio engineer" made the claim that tube gear could not sound as well as solid state stuff and he had the charts, graphs and numbers to prove it. how about hearing it? does that make any difference? i wonder if the skeptics have actually HEARD cryo'd equipment and if the equipment they are using is capable of developing the potential of cryo? just wondering, rob. rejoinders gladly read. don pettit, long beach, washington |
Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by Rob on 03/07/11 at 21:49:49 Don, Sorry I missed your posting about cryo'd gear, I will have to look it up. As for those shouting it down, I can't speak for them. I personally was skeptical about cryo treatment until someone from here on the Decware forums years ago had a bunch of tubes done, and I bought a pair. I was immediately taken by the sonic improvements, and how the tubes seemed to last much longer than stock. I also have a friend who works for a fairly renown physics research lab here in my state that applies cryo treatment to a large number of lab components, tools and instruments. As with any technology , there will be doubters/skeptics, and some for very good reason. There are a lot of audio "tweaks" out there that I don't believe do anything whatsoever to improve sound. Then you have those who believe a pair of twisted lamp cord or telephone cable sounds as good as any cable made. I don't buy that, but I also don't buy that a $10,000 cable sounds that much better than one costing a few hundred. All subjective, I guess. Bang for the buck, I find the cryo'd tubes are a pretty inexpensive treatment that produce results both audible & longevity results. I have enjoyed them in my Decware amps, and have placed a few here for sale so that others may enjoy them as well :) |
Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by don pettit on 03/08/11 at 00:11:54 hi rob, thank you for the post. i was wondering why, with my meager store of knowledge about tubes, i was left out to swing slowly, slowly in the wind by the cryo devotees that i knew were out there in decland. the post, as i remember, was in a thread that had to do with "when is the best time to turn off the equipment". this has to do with saving the life of tubes. believing as i do that cryo treating extends the service life of tubes i posted with my opinions pro cryo. dissed by some; ignored by others i was without the sophistication needed to defend my point of view. in my compulsive way when i was satisfied that cryo treating was worthwhile i went ahead and stocked up with a lifetime supply of 6n1p and 6p15p ev tubes that i am having cryo treated as needed. of course the first changeover has not occurred yet because i have only been at this for two years. having heard from the critics out there i would ask that the more musically aware of you to now show some presence in this matter. don pettit, long beach, washington |
Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by don pettit on 03/08/11 at 00:57:55 hi frank, sorry dude. thought i should add that when my tax situation is resolved i will be asking steve to sell me a taboo and guess what? i will be installing cryo'd tubes. oh, the horror, the horror! don pettit, long beach, washington |

Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by tgarden on 03/11/11 at 17:17:23 Hi, Have you matched up any pairs of these tubes? I have a pair of Decware SE84ZSM's with V-Caps installed by Steve. Thanks, Mike in Snohomish, WA |
Title: Re: FS: Fresh Cryo'd 6P15P-EVs Post by Rob on 03/15/11 at 14:22:43 Mike, I had the tubes matched after I purchased them, but before being cryo'd. I don't have a tester here to check them again, but from the ones I have used, I don't think the treament would impact them from a matching standpoint. |
