I think that maybe the question part is along the lines of, "Will it work?"

I would have to say, "Yes, it should work in this enclosure a bit more predictably than in most other designs available for a similar price."

As far as the second "question,"  I think it is more close to the original driver than the first .  Not that you have a specific one better than the other, but simply different. I think that they will both work and the difference will be within the range of corrections available in almost any decent subwoofer amplifier.

sorry, i thought i put that on there.... i was asking what would or best for this type of box, they both look pretty good, but didnt know for sure! this is the link to the subs.

The speakers are a little on the pricey side 120-170 each, but if im going to take the time to build it i want to build it the best i can to insure that it will sound the best it can!! Im thinkin of building the box out of 1" high density particle wood. or would that be a little over kill?
and was thinking about putting damping material in the sealed part of the box. Think its worth it? and if so would kind of material would work best for this?

Either one would work but I am leaning toward the XLS for the WO36. The other sub looks better suited for the WO32 but that is just my opinion. What about this:

I am a big fan of the HO series and have never been let down by their performance or price yet.

yeah, i was looking at the HO's. but saw that the spl was a little low, then i fond the XLS. I havent heard anything about the them, but a lot about the HO's. They do look like a great sub. just not liking the spl... i see you picked the DVC. kinda wanna know why you did that?

DVCs offer multiple connections for different amp needs, and also more power handling. The SPL is a little low but HOs love power and that is usually what it takes to overcome the SPL issue. Don't get me wrong the XLS is a highly regard subwoofer and I have never heard any complaints about it. I have often eyeballed the XLS wondering if my next build would work better with it than the HO. Let me know what you decide.

i was thinking.... can a guy throw 4 12's in the WO by clamshelling them?? [smiley=10.gif]

Yes, you can but it will prolly be a tight fit even with the baffle angled. My first WO was loaded with some cheap MCM tens and then I step up up to two HOs. I remember reading you lose about 3db when you clamshell subs but it helps with distortion and efficency. I think???

you lose db? i thought that you would gain some! new to me! so it probably not a good thing then!! Thanks!!!!

I dont know if this question has be asked yet or not... i tried to find it but didnt!! how is this box compared to the House Wrecker! Thanks!!

I know this is in the HWK forum but when clamshelling subs it will have the same affect in any type enclosure.

Due to the fact you are running four subs instead of two it takes double the power to hit the same SPL. From my experince it is better to invest in two real good subs than four cheapos.
