Yes, I have some of his cds.  I most like him on the Trinity Sessions Revisited by Cowboy Junkies. So sad that we lost him so recently.

I see his clips on YouTube and there is some powerful stuff there but I've never purchased any of his recordings.  What do you recommend as a good starting point?

Also, I read that the Cowboy Junkies are releasing a Vic Chesnutt tribute CD in February.  I hope that isn't old news.

I sort of hesitate to make recommendations because I might guess our tastes may differ more than they align. . . . I do recommend the cd/dvd set of the Trinity Sessions Revisited.  I also have The Salesman and Bernadette, About to Choke and Drunk.

His last 2 albums were recorded with Godspeed You! Black Emperor as backup band. They're my favorite band, and add amazing emotion to his already dark sound.

Check out the song "coward" from his album At the Cut.
