Post by Matt S Mini Torii #17 on 10/02/09 at 05:05:23

Serial #017 SEX arrived yesterday afternoon.  Awaiting the MG944's with the zstx, anyway, hooked up a pair of Klipsch RF-15's from my theater, directly from the iPod headphone output...In the last 24 hours, Ive got 15+ already in, and I can already hear a fullness coming through...as a total newbie to tubes, these things are awesome....stay tuned.... :)

Welcome to my world. When you get the MG944's hooked up to the Mini you will be BLOWN AWAY!

Great you are enjoying your first experience with tube amps Matt. You picked a great one right off the bat. Have #12 here, I listen to in my office while I work and the Tori MKII downstairs in the den. Sure do like these Decware amps. Best sounding I have had and easy to fiddle with. You will be pleased as time goes on with your amp. My Mini is hooked up to a pair of HDT's and the sound amazes all that listen. Pretty cool amp.

What are you using as a source?

HP Home Server > ITunes or Media Center > Weiss Dac2 > CSP2 > TORIISE > HDT

Transfer all content to .wav and then also keep an Apple loss-less copy. Also have some downloaded 96khz 24bit content and play around with http://www.last.fm/ some.

hi everybody,  mine (#19) just arrive this morning in FRANCE,  just out of the box it looks like a toy !!    very small and light.  a rapid look at the inside .. :o  and i  think : this thing can't work !!!

so i plug out my luxuous Set Ayon Sunrise and plug the mini torii on my avant-garde Horn speaker.....
turn on , and nothing happened , i put my head in the Horn and nothing again no hum no hiss.. nothing :o what a "tour de force" from decware this amp is more silent than a solid state.  ;)

music can start ,  the sound is pure , clear and very natural . less spectacular than the Ayon with its AA32 tubes ( 300BXLS sort), smaller image but more precise and less distorded sound.

let's burn it few days and will tell you my impressions..

cheers.

Takes 22 minutes for the voltage regulators to stabilize, then you hear it bloom.  And of course give it a few weeks to break in.

;D oh  how stupid i was , i have done all my listening with the input tube regulator off!!  now with the reg "on" the mini torii sounds better than my 6000$ Ayon SET .

respect steve 8-)

i never heard this CD sounds so real than with the Mini

Well, took delivery of the MG's this afternoon....Bob spent his entire weekend making sure I got my Christmas present.....we originally talked about finishing them in Birdseye Maple, but give the knots in the wood, it makes it really difficult to do without pits etc...anyway, we agreed on Tiger Maple, camera phone pic enclosed from this afternoon...

I live about 15 minutes from Overture Audio in Wilmington, DE who has won Best of Show  NYC, LA, Etc.. Etc... pretty much nationwide...Anyway, after letting the Mini warm up, and putting on Weather Report "Birdland" and hearing Jaco at his best.....These things are $7-8k Speakers... Unbelievable sound and fit and finish....for $1,300, you've got to be kidding me...

The Mini Torii and MG944 combination is the most unsung value in all of audio. One could spend tens of thousands of dollars and not come close to the magic that this combination delivers.

I could say the same about the Torri Mark II and the IT Radials! :D

Ok....Now that I've had some time to listen to this stuff...thinking about going plastic...have accumulated a bunch of old records, looking at Pro=Ject 9.1 with a Blackbird...will of course go with the Decware Phono Pre amp....Thoughts?
