Title: TEST POINTS Post by Steve Deckert on 07/05/09 at 00:02:24 Here are the voltages for the SE84B, SE84C and SE84CS amplifiers. https://www.decware.com/newsite/zkit53.htm |
Title: Re: TEST POINTS Post by proud_indian on 09/06/09 at 12:55:53 Reading the notes, it says to test the voltages, the volume should be at zero and no load on the amp. This means no speaker connected. I was told that tube amps must have some load or else the OPT's will pack up. I did notice in Steve's video that it is tested for a while without the speakers. So how long is it safe to run the amp without a load?? shreekant :) |
Title: Re: TEST POINTS Post by ZYGI on 09/07/09 at 00:07:15 Shreekant, As much as I hate to admit my stupidity, I have probably left every Decware amp I own on for at least 30 minutes before realizing there were no speakers hooked to it, and have probably done it more than once to all of the amps. My biggest fear is doing to to the Torii-I and I have done it to that one on several occasions with zero ill effects. Steve say you can't hurt the amp, I guess he is correct, and he should know, right? ZYGI |
Title: Re: TEST POINTS Post by ZYGI on 09/07/09 at 00:10:17 I forgot to mention, I do however remember to turn the volume knob all the way down before tuning the amps on though. I guess that's a plus for me!!! |
