Title: Horn-loaded deathbox? Post by b3n on 04/22/09 at 23:40:31 I've just finished my first DB 10 :D Still waiting for the driver to arrive.. :-[ Was wondering if anyone has ever tryed attaching a horn to their deathbox? Funktion 1 have an attachable horn called the Infra-horn for their 4th order bandpass, and its a pretty similar idea to the wicked one... The f1 infra horn adds 8-12 db sensitivity so it could be well worth trying |

If you are looking for higher spl you might want to try a well design ported enclosure. The DB is an excellent design but it is still a bandpass and BP enclosures have their limits. HT-EXT |

Title: Re: Horn-loaded deathbox? Post by HT-EXT on 04/27/09 at 18:00:09 I am not saying one is better than the other but when it comes to size the BP is usually bigger and more complicated to build. A ported enclosure that can hit the same spl as the BP will be smaller and easier to build. I have both and like all of them. I enjoy the difference each one can bring to the table in response and spl. Besides there are alot of factors not taken into account. Environment ? Quality of build ? Quality of subwoofer used ? WAF ? Last but not least !!! MONEY ???? HT-EXT |
